02 Configure Ubuntu

We want to redirect all temp activity to the ephemeral storage:
  • sudo mkdir /mnt/tmp
  • sudo chmod 777 /mnt/tmp
  • cd /ubuntu
  • vim bashrc
  • export TMPDIR=/mnt/tmp
  • <escape> wq

Now we can update Ubuntu
  • aptitude update
  • aptitude upgrade

  • dpkg-reconfigure tzdata (select the server timezone)
