Plone Server Setup On AWS

Preparation and misc information as of May 2010

As I already have a running production server instance on Amazon Web Services (AWS) the following are assumed:

  • have an AWS account with EC2 and S3
  • have valid keypair(s) for AWS
  • have downloaded and setup the EC2 API (latest version)
  • have checked alestic.com for the latest EBS boot AMI
I use only Ubuntu 8.04 LTS at this time.
